Dr. Kyle Smith earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Brigham Young University. He went on to complete both his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of California, Irvine. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Sutter Sacramento, where he also served as adjunct faculty 2020-2025.
Dr. Smith is a board-certified family physician with a wide scope of experience in clinical adult and pediatric medicine, obstetrics and newborn medicine. From 2020 to 2025, he practiced at Sutter Medical Group Family Medicine in Roseville while providing hospital-based care at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento. He also served as adjunct faculty with the Sutter Family Medicine Residency Program, mentoring the next generation of physicians.
Known for his clinical skill and commitment to continuity of care, Dr. Smith enjoys performing a wide variety of in-office procedures and managing complex medical issues. A Rocklin native, Dr. Smith now lives in Loomis with his wife and three daughters. Outside of medicine he most enjoys spending time with his family and also distance running, weightlifting, and gardening. He’s actively involved in his local church and community and serves on a state wide non-profit focused on delivering care to the underserved.
Matt earned his Bachelors in Exercise Science from Utah Valley University, and Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Rocky Mountain College 2013. He spent eight years at Sutter Family Medicine in Roseville, where he practiced full-spectrum outpatient medicine. During that time, he also served as an officer in the United States Army National Guard, exemplifying leadership, discipline, and service.
Since 2021, Matt has worked at the Lincoln and Granite Bay Urgent Care clinics, where he is widely respected by both patients and colleagues for his thorough, calm, and approachable style. His strong diagnostic skills and ability to connect with patients in moments of urgency have made him a trusted provider in the community.
Matt believes that effective medical care starts with listening and genuine respect for each patient’s story. He aims to provide clear, practical solutions and works hard to ensure patients feel heard, informed, and empowered in their healthcare decisions. His colleagues and patients often describe him as approachable, kind, and knowledgeable—with a special talent for creating calm in chaotic situations.
Originally from Idaho, Matt now lives in the Greater Sacramento area with his family. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, fitness, and time spent with his wife, son and daughter. His military background, hands-on clinical experience, and dedication to his patients have shaped him into a steady, reliable presence in the urgent care setting—and a provider families turn to with confidence.
